Hommage to Edward Hopper by Cathrin Jo Ann Wind in DIVA Editorial

Wind

For DIVA Issue 04/10 the great photographer Cathrin Jo Ann Wind created
a series in the style of Edward Hopper's paintings. The images look amazing.

A while ago I had already seen another interpretation of Edward Hopper's
style at LUMAS gallery. I have studied Edward Hopper's work carefully as
my exam in art history class was about his paintings. The way he fills
emptiness with light and how he plays with colours and shades is really
fantastic.

Cathrin Jo Ann Wind really did a fantastic job in combining Edward
Hopper's style with her great photography skills.

Jordan Duvall: Black and white spheres, round pieces as highlights

R

Spheres used as accessoires are so lovely in photographs. I recently saw
a making of of a shooting with silver balls. So I thought I'd share
Jordan Duvalls Fashion shooting with you - where they used black and
white balls:

California Sunbounce: Photographer's Control over Sunlight

Summer is coming here in Germany and I really want to go for an outdoor
shooting this year. California Sunbounce has wonderful equipment and
there is no better light source than the sun. I use the Sunbounce
reflector's indoor as well (maybe you can tell) but natural light still
is my favourite light source.

A quick review of the California Sunbounce system:

Making of Madonna photoshoot for Interview Magazine

The video clip from the photo shooting of Madonna for Interview Magazine
isn't really a hit, but the photos turned out great. In the end, she's
an icon.

Alley Cat: Erotica Magazine for Women and Men

Titel

The magazine Alley Cat has been out there for a while - at least one
year. It was founded by Ina Küper who proved that three people are
enough to produce a monthly magazine. In the end it was so interesting
for a big publishing company in Germany that they decided to take over
the production and found an agreement.

Alley Cat continues and the next issue is out now. They claim to be an
erotic magazine for females but with style. You can visit their website
or buy and read the latest issue:

P.S. I really like the cover shot.

Remember LUI magazine? A journey into the past...

Once there was this magazine called LUI. It was the French answer to
Hugh Heffner's Playboy. I think in the USA it was published under the
name OUI.

Back in the 70s and 80s life seemed so much easier. At least from a
today's perspective. The photographs express so much fun. You can view a
full archive of the LUI covers from the past here:

U-Flycam: Cheap Steadycam Solution from India

U-flycam

Today I received a package from India. It's the U-Flycam that I ordered
just a while ago. I was looking for a solution to move the camera and
not to be shaking too much. There are many professional solutions out
there but I am not a pro when it comes to filming.

Then there are even more solutions out there that cost almost nothing
but they really look like that, too.

So after a while of browsing the internet, I decided to buy the U-Flycam
from India: http://www.thecinecity.com/tcc/product.php?productid=35&cat=267

I can't provide a demo video yet but I will sure give it a try, soon.
