V Magazine - Issue 61

V

I never saw a magazine before where literary the first 100 pages were
advertisements. But you can still be sure to find some great photographs
in this 262 pager.

Check out page 106 for some nude fashion pics, a great ultra wide angle
series shot on the Times Square from page 185 and a lovely Kate Moss
series starting at page 205.

Jacques commercial for the January 2011 issue

Check out this cheesy 70s style video commercial for Jacques:

I really love the message of Jonathan Leder's magazine here. Jacques
Magazine: Never retouched. Never airbrushed. The new Voyeur Issue to hit
newsstands in January 2011.

Maybe I can contribute some day. It's up to the chief editors of course...

Currently planning new shootings for 2010 (Just bought 2 new pairs of shoes)

I am currently preparing new series. One will be another office series.
This time all in silver. I already bought a fantastic old silver
telephone and now the suiting silver high heels.

For another shooting I bought another pair of violet heels.

Remember Paper? A website reviewing great magazines

Remember_paper_1262781628534

Today I'd like to introduce a website which features great photographic
magazines or special editions with high class photos from famous
photographers.

It is a great collection of works and the sources/credits are given.

Personally I remember some old issues of "lui". It is really a pity that
they ceased their publication in 1992.

She just wants to play

I'd like to welcome the new year with 21 pictures of Hoppi in a series
called "Playground Love". How do you like her pose in this picture?

Happy New Year (with stern.de)

Stern-neujahr

A nice start of the new year: My last series with Melisa in the shower
is being published on the stern.de website as of today.

Website Update

Nude_photography_by_simon_bolz

A quick Sunday evening website update: I feature my latest series now
with a big photo on the start screen.

Censorship on YouTube

Youtube

My "making of" video clip from my shooting with Marketa has been
deactivated by YouTube. It was ok for 6 months on their site, now they
decided that it is against their community policy.

The clip showed no nipples, no pussy, everything was absolutely clean.
It was a "making of" clip with makeup, posing and a bit of light and
some of the resulting photographs. Not very interesting but especially
not arousing in any way.

I am very disappointed that a lot people out there don't see the
difference between sensual photography and porn. We believe to live in a
free world but we are very far away from it - especially in America.

Wash me (I'm dirty)

A steaming hot shower gives such nice light effects in the pictures.
Foggy and blurred, some drops of water... Enjoy a new series with a
moist Melisa washing herself off:

Logos on photos

I always wanted to go without my logo on each single photo that I
publish on my website. Clean images simply look nicer. Repeating a URL
on every photo looks very commercial.

Until now I refused to write text on my photographs. I simply put my
copyright notice in the metadata of the .jpg file (Read more at
Wikipedia about it, if you like:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Press_Telecommunications_Council )
and it was good for me.

Recently more and more Addons are coming out and bloggers who don't
write the photographers name underneath a photo that they took from a
website. It doesn't cost anything to state the source and it is a good
practice in our social coexistence. But more and more people simply
ignore that.

The removal of meta data on an image taken from another website could
also be valued as a criminal act. I don't want to be upset anymore.

This all is just really sad and forces me to put my URL in large letters
on each photograph that I publish on my website. It has to be in large
letters because often photos are downsized also and then the URL gets
blurred.

Please understand my reaction to the ignorant behaviour of a large
number of bloggers out there.

What's up with the copyright?

It happens to me every day - and I believe thousands of other
photographers as well: photos are taken from our sites and put in a
photo blog without giving credits. Not mentioning the photographer and
the photographer's URL is like a punch in the face.

I put a lot of effort and money in my photography. I spend hours and
hours with this stuff. I don't ask for money but I hate when people
anonymize my work.

Today I found 7 image blogs on tumblr.com which hold stolen photos of
mine. And I believe there are far more.

Short Movie "Signs"

A great short movie, a love story, very moody and one of the 2009 Cannes
Lions winners. It's worth to watch the whole 12 minutes.
