New photo series coming up from my disastrous shooting with Saya

01

Disastrous shooting? What happened? Well, being in the middle of my
shooting my Profoto Acute flash generator broke down. First the flash
recycling time went to about 30 seconds. Then it was totally over. We
gave it a break, waited one hour but cooling down didn't help.

Unfortunately with available light (at night) in a hotel room my Phase
One camera doesn't work. High ISO on a Phase One is really bad. Going up
to ISO400 is ok. The additional options the camera has (reducing
resolution by 1/4) are also ok, but still all not enough. The lenses are
high-end, kick-ass and I love them but the largest aperture is at f2.8.
Not enough if available light is almost zero.

So, I had to switch to my backup: A tiny, teeny Canon EOS 550D with an
excellent 50mm lens (going up to f1.2) at ISO800. Conclusion:
Technically speaken, this shooting was horrible.

But this is just a little behind the scenes talk. Nobody really needed
to know as the photos themselves look stunning, the model was superb and
the results are adorable.

I will publish the photos next Monday on my website. Here is a first
glimpse for you.
